Raising piglets

At a day over one week old, the piglets are already twice as big, and twice as cute. They're learning so much also. At first it was how to run, then it was what to chew on, and now one of them has learned how to escape. The world outside the stall door is a much bigger place, and much more interesting.

The piglets are so much fun to have at the barn. They get cuter every day. I took this video when they were just starting to run and play instead of sleep all the time.

Now that they know how to run around without wiping out, they've figured out we're not going to hurt them and they love to come up to us, much to Wilma's disapproval. She lets us pet them as long as they don't squeal, she gets angry when they squeal.

One of them has learned that when we come to the door, he can slip right past us and explore the wide world outside. Wilma doesn't get too upset unless she can hear him outside, then she pushes against the door. We scoop him up and toss him back into the stall, but he just comes right back. Wilma even tried laying with her snout at the door to block it, but he climbs right over top of her when she's not fast enough to push him away.

They have been so much fun this past week. I can't wait to keep playing with them and learning new stuff about pigs and piglets. More pictures and updates to come!
