Bruiser's mom proved to be a bad mother, so we've taken him in and are now bottle feeding him too. Luckily, much to her disapproval, we've begun weening Nina so we only have to mix one bottle instead of two.
Nina's not too sure she likes this new bottle-stealing intruder, but it'll be good for both calves to socialize with another cow, so they don't think they're human. (We have a very affectionate steer that we bottle raised a few years ago, who took a couple of months with the herd to realize he was in fact a cow.)
Bottle feeding Bruiser shouldn't be too much work, since it's now spring and there's no snow like there was with Nina. Plus, we love the adorable calves.
