The Hottest Ride in Town

For my family, it's completely normal to get a phone call from our friends and neighbors over the hill, saying "Come outside and see our new horse and cart!"

That's how I started my afternoon today. Our farmer friends took a 2 mile ride with their new cart, and additional horses to show them off to us. Mel has a new harness partner, Roscow. They get along for the most part. Their owners are giving hay rides this coming Community Day, and wanted to practice off the farm a bit. So we all took a stroll down the road to the park behind our house and back.

Mel is on the right, with his new partner, Roscow on the left.

It was gorgeous weather for a ride, not sunny but warm. They also brought their daughter's horse, Bobby for a walk behind the cart. He was very well behaved and trotted along behind as if it was completely normal.

I'd say it was a very pleasant stroll. The horses and cart are all street legal and passing vehicles must obey road-sharing rules. We got some funny looks, but when it comes to farming, horses, and things we love, we don't mind being the center of attention.
