Sunday Naps

Sunday naps are quite possibly the best remedy for a long week. Just ask my pony and my dog.

Fun fact: Horses CAN sleep standing up, by locking their knees. It's part of their flight response to danger.

Their lives are so hard.

Tadpole Time

It's almost warm enough for tadpoles! I LOVE tadpoles, and I don't know why.

Four-legged Genius

Border Collies are geniuses. I swear they're a breed designed from Einstein himself. Our dog, Misty, is part Border Collie and she's too smart for her own good. She's also a princess.

Drama Queens

In this town, everyone's a drama queen. That was pretty much a social clique in my high school. Not even my farmer family can escape it, although, they're not who you'd expect.

Drink Milk, Mailman

Jeff custom made our mailbox a long time ago, so that it's a super mailbox that can't be beaten in with a baseball bat. Apparently we have a new mailman because he doesn't seem to appreciate the mailbox.

Cow Tippin'

I'm not ashamed to admit--I've gone cow tipping.

Rest In Peace Skip

One of the horses in the barn came in with a lame (sore) foot a few days ago. Upon equine vet inspection and x-rays, we found out he has a fractured cannon bone, which is found in the leg.

There's No Place Like Home

As you all know, I spent ten days in the truck and sleeping in hotels. Then another seven staying at my vet's house, dog sitting. While I love vacations, and her dogs are too funny, it's nice to be back in my own bed tonight.

Rabies

I didn't realize the threat of rabies was country-kid common knowledge until today. While we were on vacation, one of the girls at the barn caught a rabid raccoon in our old cat cage and kept it in the stable, thinking someone could help it.
